This was not intended, this departure from her own
Fear was at the ready
but she was not helpless in this foreign vein
Her next steps yet unarticulated,
came from seeds so deeply sown
She called on the mothers and the battle worn crones
They gathered at her side to witness, to hold
to distil, detangle, sift
each pulling miraculous threads woven throughout her soul
Helping to sort through the false, feared, and true
She laid her burden at the foot of the forest
and dug into the earth
Her bones recalled their ancient home and its promise of rebirth
Sweet dark night draped her tenor-toned blanket
With the love of her kin and the land
Baptised by the light of the moon
Between the worms and the rich warm dirt
re-membering ensues
Treasures shrouded and well found
Returning with every tenderness
and every shame set free
With every tear the fertile soul replenished
The promise of creation
The promise of ever change
The promise of intention
Ancient truths hold her and set free her heart
In harmony she is anew
